Signs you need mold removal/remediation

Persistent Odor

A lingering, musty smell in your home or business could indicate mold growth, even if it's not visible. This odor often signifies the presence of mold spores in the air and calls for professional mold remediation.

Visible Mold Growth

Obvious signs of mold growth on walls, ceilings, or other surfaces demand immediate attention. Mold can appear in various colors and textures, such as black spots, fuzzy patches, or slimy coatings.

Water Damage

Any past or present water damage, such as leaks, floods, or moisture buildup, creates a conducive environment for mold growth. If you've experienced water-related issues, it's crucial to inspect for mold and address it promptly.

Health Symptoms

Mold exposure can lead to a range of health issues, including respiratory problems, allergies, skin irritation, and headaches. If occupants experience unexplained or worsening health symptoms while indoors, mold contamination could be the culprit.

High Humidity

Areas with consistently high humidity levels or persistent dampness, such as basements, bathrooms, or crawl spaces, are susceptible to mold growth. Excessive moisture provides the ideal conditions for mold proliferation and indicates the need for remediation efforts.

Structural Damage

Warped walls, peeling paint or wallpaper, sagging ceilings, or deteriorating wood are all potential signs of mold-related damage that warrant professional assessment and remediation.

Examples of places where mold can be found inside the home include:

Basement

Kitchen (Bottom of Fridge)

Around bathroom vanities

Washer/dryer area

Underside of carpets and pads

Surface of walls behind furniture

Ceilings and the top side of ceiling tiles

6 Steps to Remove and Remediate Mold

3

Containment

Our first step is to contain the work within a specific area, which will be placed under negative air pressure and vented to the outdoors. This prevents cross-contamination of mold spores in the non-affected areas of the building.

4

HEPA Air Scrubbing

Mold Fix technicians will clean the air using commercial-grade, industrial-strength air scrubbing machines. These machines have HEPA filters that capture 99.97% of all airborne and microscopic dust and mold spores.

5

Selective Demo

If necessary, we will carefully remove any mold-contaminated and impacted materials. Our goal is to control the demo and avoid stirring up additional mold spores. Don’t worry – we won’t damage your home or business.

6

HEPA Vacuuming

We will use a special vacuum with HEPA filters to clean the contaminated area. This filter captures any remaining mold or dust particles that have become airborne or embedded in your carpet.

7

Antimicrobial Cleaning

We will clean the entire contaminated area with antimicrobial cleaning agents to kill any residual mold growth. This will also inhibit the growth of future mold, mildew, bacteria, and algae.

8

Thorough Clean-Up

Once we have finished our removal and remediation, we’ll vacuum the space again, wipe down surfaces with antimicrobial wipes, and remove all of the equipment. A final walkthrough will ensure the project is complete.
